Even if that were a fair representation of the history of Ireland it
has nothing to do with the present situation. That all happened
generations ago and everybody now involved on both sides is native
Irish.

Presently the Catholic terrorists blow stuff up so they can be
separated from the UK and the Protestant terrorists blow stuff up so
they can remain part of the UK. It's impossible to please both sects
at the same time so stuff continues to get blown up.


Or in the Middle East, where it all started with the two sons of one guy whose descendents went on to adopt different religions and both believe they are entitled to the same piece of land both on religious grounds and because it is their inheritance from their common ancestor, but the family troubles came first.
