As books go, don't bother reading it for the plot, characters, ideas, or anything else that you would read a novel for. It is not exactly the best thing he has ever written. (I found a copy on the discard pile at a local library for $1 (because it was a hardback: paperbacks are 5/$1) and decided to get it solely on his name.) He does provide a rather extensive set of references at the end of the novel. One set (Appendix II) is titled "Sources of Data for Graphs" (like _The Andromeda Strain_, there are lots of computer displays and graphics interspersed in the text). Then there is a 20+ page bibliography. I asked earlier, and still have not received an answer, if anyone has any knowledge of or comments about the source material he references?
