Hey, you might be colder than I was last weekend! (Our high temp Sat was 7oF, low -13.) Your ponies look like typical Mongolian nomad horses - very tough, hardy and having impressive endurance (there's a national race that involves children racing back at best speed for something like 30-45 minutes, IIRC, after having already walked a couple of hours to the starting place). The true Mongolian wild horse, the taki, aka Prezhwalski's (sp!) horse, had been extinct in the wild but was reintroduced not too long ago; it has one more chromosome (I think, but am not positive - might be one less) than our domestic horses/ponies.
