I suppose they might be amusing in a campy way.  I haven't read one
since I was a teenager, when I read probably five or six of them.  
IIRC, my mother even got my brother a few of them for a birthday or
Christmas.  Clearly she never actually *read* them.  :-)

Even back then, something about them made me queasy.  I mean, D&S is 
fine if you're into it, but Norman's overarching theory is that *all* 
women secretly *want* to be raped, and that rape sets them free, 
sexually.  Again, maybe there are some small number that do like it;
there's all manner of sexual proclivities out there, why not that one?

If Norman only argued that that what women want is a man to take 
charge and be a man, instead of a "sensitive new age guy" all the 
time, I would maybe buy that.  But I reject the idea that deep down, 
they all want to be repeatedly sexually violated.
