Charlie--
Let me be the first on this list to congratulate you
(and Claire). Dealing with Immigration is a pain--
it seems every country shows its bad side to those
wanting to get in.
Cheers.
Actually, it was a piece of piss, mainly because we were very careful to
get everything they wanted and more *before* lodging the application,
and the much afeared interview turned out to be a one minute phone call
to check me out and throw a couple of curve-ball questions at me... and
that was it. From lodging application to grant of visa - 22 days. Took
12 more for us to find out about it 'cause the letter went astray...
Charlie--
I don't want to jinx you, but are you sure you're done? : )
My wife is German, and when she got US permanent resident
status it was not that easy. We did multiple trips to
the immigration office, where one had to arrive a couple
hours before it opened just to get an appointment.
Fortunately, we lived pretty close to an office. (There
were around 25 in the whole country.)
Anyway, best wishes!
