And then some!.......

I did a bit of research and can answer some of the questions a bit
better.
At NBC.com there is a series of short graphic novels and a blog or two
that act as companions to the show and actually clarify a few things.

There is a good bit of fan discussion about the rift on the site. Not
much of it is in any way useful IMO.

No, they are definately not the same guy I discover and only resemble
each other in a very general sort of way.

What do we know about Skylar?
He freezes people and steals their brains. I don't think he is "Evil
Glasses Guy", but "EGG" might be on the hunt for Skylar..........for
the government?

90% of fans seem to agree, but the other 10% don't seem to have a
better explaination.

Pretty much what I'm thinking at this point.

It looks like it might matter.
He *is* innocent! and he has a power *[double secret spoiler at
bottom]

OK! Thanks!

Addendum:
A lot has been discussed concerning Hiro and his trip to the future
where he sees New York destroyed, but........

It has been pointed out online that at the beginning of every episode
the Earth is shown with a number of explosions occuring across its
surface. I have not noticed this but will be on the lookout for it.

Save the Cheerleader, Save the *World*

Ahhhhhhhh......now that makes much more sense.
