I just heard our president say that one of the disappointments of the Iraq
war is that we didn't find WMDs.

Gee, I thought to myself, he really hit the nail on the head there. If only
Iraq had had some nukes or biological weapons. The world would be a much
better place if only Saddam Hussein had been sufficiently equipped to wipe
out large segments of his enemies' populations. And yes, Mr. President, how
tragic that he turned out to have been no threat to anybody. I am so very
disappointed. And I'm disappointed in the adminisration because they could
have solved this problem easily. The United States has huge stockpiles of
biological and nuclear WMDs. We could have spared a few to properly equip
Saddam for the invasion. But no, we selfishly withheld them from him and now
we must live in the shadow of the deep disappointment that resulted.

Maybe it is not too late. After all, we are changing tactics to deal with
the enemy's changing tactics. We could overcome this disappointment by
properly equipping the ethnic groups fighting with each other in Iraq.
Perhaps nukes for the Kurds, biologicals for the Shiites and... let's see,
what's left for the Sunnis.... ummmmm, maybe we could split the nukes
between strategic and tactical weapons so that there are enough to go
around.

Yes, we are disappointed. But there is always hope.
