but most of all, this planet can not sustain world wide industrialization. jon mann
I agree the world would be a sorry place if it could be done at all given current technology. But there are levels of technology--not ruled out by science--that could sustain world wide "industrialization." The problem is to get there before there is a disaster or three. I can go into detail if you like. Keith Henson i would be very interested to know what levels of technology the planet could support. i assume you mean clean technology and renewable sources of energy. i am not a luddite and since technology is responsible for much of the pollution from industrialization, it would certainly be appropriate if technology could solve problems of waste and pollution. i have heard estimates that the planet could support two or three times the present population. i assume the consequence would be additional extinction of plant and animal species. what worries me is that the food chain is already showing serious signs of strain, such as the disappearance of bees and the spread of toxic algae in the southern hemisphere. jon mann __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
