Ahh, but as Julia pointed out, metric mismatches can be fatal.

But that's physics. Only the most obtuse of the fundies deny it. The 
problem lies in the future technologies that will develop from things 
such as genetic engineering, stem cell work and molecular biology. In a 
nation so ass-backward as to attribute life to the fiat of a deity some 
ten thousand years ago, there is simply no way for these technologies 
to flourish.

The US is doomed to be a backwater of ignorant, pugnacious asses who 
simply will not allow themselves to progress.

With luck we'll have gutted ourselves economically and militarily 
BEFORE we're able to completely ignite world war three.
