Folks,

"Incredible as it seems, our detection of the dark energy may have
reduced the life-expectancy of the universe."
                                               -- Prof. Lawrence Krauss

Interesting story found via Slashdot: According to quantum theory, at
least
as it is posited by Lawrence Krauss of Case Western Reserve
University and
James Dent of Vanderbilt University, our observations of dark matter
may be
hastening the end of the universe itself.

The physicists among us may have more to say about this. I look
forward to
their contributions, debunkage, etc.
