I think that would alienate obama's base, chris.  hopefully obama realizes that 
research and development is essential to solving the problems created by 
technology.  
carter was a forward thinker in many ways but his well intended decision to 
give medical asylum to the shah has been said to have led to the hostage 
crisis.  I believe Jerry Brown would have been a better president, but he 
entered the race too late in 76.
