The wind doesn't blow in a consistent direction, just chaotic variations of the general direction. It is like watching a fire rage. It is 1 AM local time and I have to stop myself from standing holding my door open to watch a hypnotic dance of nature's uncontrolled motions, chaos and order combined expending fury upon the landscape that I generally take for granted. It is horrific and beautiful at the same time and so completely spellbinding. It is not hard to understand in this moment why some will chase tornados and storms at a risk of their own lives. It is utter temptation to walk out in it and *feel* it. I'm looking forward to the eye wall passing over me. I've been in the eye twice in my life and the only thing I can say to describe it is that it is magical and numinous. It is sudden and the world changes almost instantly. Crashing cacophonous violence and a moment later all is peace. I suspect there is nothing in the world quite like it.
