Some might never thought it would come to this, but I miss Gautam: I have argued with Gautam in the past, which is fine, of course, but did so rashly and rudely, to my own discredit. His calm, clear voice of intelligence and reason returns to us this week in the midst of the "meltdown" thread, which subject has come to represent the temper tantrum being thrown by one of its participants far more accurately than it does our financial system's troubles. Welcome back, Gautam. I suspect I'll argue with you again, and hope I'll do so with a fraction of your admirable restraint. > This is an interesting and relevant article by the venerable George > Will, conservative pundit and I believe, a favorite professor of > Gautam's. > It is arguable that, because of his inexperience, Obama is not > ready for the presidency. See, this is what I continue to love about this list: the range of points of view. Thanks to Doug, a quote from George Will appears in my Twitter feed, which, for a self-proclaimed liberal, is a pretty odd thing, indeed.
