I didn't mean anything so dramatic. I don't know exactly what
is going on, only that the larger and more highly leveraged institiutions
seem to be selected against in favor of smaller ones.

Could be. Or maybe that will happen, and then conditions will change
to favor smaller ones again. Or maybe conditions will continue
to favor smaller institutions over larger ones. Of course, there is
likely to be government interference, so it is hard to discern the
"natural" tendency.
