We need to solve our economic problems by adopting an economic model that puts the government on the side of the people. American workers need a new New Deal that will revive our economy and provide productive green jobs that will preserve the environment and implement energy independence. We need to save social security and adopt a single payer national health care plan. We need to END the war economy and bring our troops home to repair America's infrastructure, instead of Iraq's.
Instead of a 700 billion dollar bailout for corporate America, loan that money to qualified American families who need to save their home. Bail out homeowners, rather than banks; that should solve the housing crisis. Loan seed money to qualified small businesses and liquidate failed corporations. Sell off their parts, real estate, etc. Let the private sector bargain hunters buy out the money lenders. Re-distribute wealth to actual workers, instead of money managers, agents, and the "geniuses" on Wall St. I would rather trust my fellow Americans with a bailout that they will have to pay for, anyway.
