For example, I'm going to complain about someone who didn't do their job and left me unknowingly without insurance for a week. If someone attacks one of my kids or my wife I will put in some effort to have them realize that it will not be helpful to their own goals to keep up with such activity. But, being called a looser on an internet list, that I might analyze, but not really have any emotional reaction to.
