Actually, Facebook might _be_ the right venue: they recently
introduced a procedure to convert deceased members' profiles to
memorial pages. In fact, here's the form that you use to request this
conversion.

Louis' mom, Cindy Cara, is considering this right now. Otherwise,
Facebook has been known to just shut down profiles, with the attendant
stress to family and friends.
