No, open source is a mistake, as I've been pointing out for years. http://mjr.towers.org.uk/writing/ambigopen.html Proprietary software isn't blasphemy (well, not to me, but I've worked for monks), but it is self-defeating to get involved with it. More interestingly (probably), I could talk about the XML/XSL perl stuff I use or some of the problems of connecting older protocols like Z39.50 and OAI-PMH up to the modern XML and HTTP world, to see if the gurus have new takes on them. Maybe later.
