Ralf,

BritDisc does work well. Ultimate in the UK would probably be somewhat smaller and
less informed without it (anyone received a tournament invite in the post recently?).

I think that the main problem seems to be that it's just a bit "old"... and therefore
just doesn't seem as "pretty" or "gadgety" as some of the newer systems available.

As a manager of several eGroups lists, I see flaws in most of your arguments against
their system. (There's a large amount of configuration options). However, you may
indeed be correct that what such providers offer may not be what we're really looking
for.

As for the "Annoying commercial messages"... some have come from legitimately
subscribed Ultimate players that are involved in share dealing or marketing pyramids
(as a money spinning hobby, I guess). If we'd prefer that they didn't do this, I guess
that we should ask them nicely to refrain. In the meantime, the occaisional use of the
"delete" key seems to work quite well.

PS: I get messages to email accounts no longer on BD, where it looks as though someone
has joined the list, acquired the membership listing from the majordomo system and
then set up in their own list from it to Spam. That's more annoying to me.
