I have been thinking about the issues raised over the whole student costs thing. It 'seems' well agreed that students, only the whole, do not have the money to travel the length and breadth of the country. Also due to us actually being 'students' and the Tour dates being during the exam times, it makes it very difficult for even the 'Serious' teams to put in a serious bid to make the Nationals. Also taking what Ben said in his previous mail, would it be a sensible suggestion to give an automatic place to the winners of the Students outdoors? People may not agree, and I understand why, but I thought that it might be worth suggesting at least. And maybe something to consider at the next AGM. Please do not clog up Britdisc with your opinions too much, as it may be better to send ideas to me (or Ben), and I will be happy to paraphrase what peoples thoughts are. As I said there are lots of problems with this, but if we are to change the Tour set-up and thus the qualifying for the nationals, then could this be considered. If we want to avoid being mad at the powers-that-be, we need to discuss and communicate with them.
