To the Ultimate Committee.
We only found out about clapham's withdrawal on Friday. The schedule had been written and we wanted to change it as little as possible. We tried getting hold of the u8c committee but failed. When we reseeded the teams it was unavoidable that one team or another would have had to have byes and have played less games.... we were just trying to limit the damage late on Friday with a busy day at work - hence the action taken.
You may feel that this sounds a bit dodgy but we had to make a decision and the action taken was the easiest and quickest way. I apologise to the ultimate committee and any teams that feel hard done by but as any other tournament director will confirm, last minutes changes cause problems which often lead decisions that are sometimes not favorable.
Please be assured that any decision made was for the interest of all teams. Apologies once again and I hope you all still respect Rik and I as tournament directors who would still want to hold a tour event in Leeds.
