Si 'Darth Chodder' Hill asked me to pass this on to Britdisc for discussion:
---------------------------------- All I notice from the rules that there is some sort of indoor-like finish planned to the games this weekend - finishing when the hooter goes (unless close in points); with some additional 10 minute cap on that. Given that its going to be windy this weekend, I guess that makes some sense for most games; (altho I'm not a fan of the idea!) Ian - can you confirm that proper end of game rules will apply for the semis and final please? Thanks Si (Clapham) ------------------------------------ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 04 October 2001 22:58 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Nationals Start Times and Captains meeting details Start times are as follows Seeds 1-6 12.30pm Seeds 7 -10 and 23-26 11am Seeds 11-22 9.30am Captains Meeting 9am The seedings are at the end of this message. If you have one of the later start times and won't have a representative at the Captains Meeting, please make sure you are aware of the Captains Meeting notes below, and check with the TD prior to the start of the tournament for any last minute updates, a printed schedule and a pitch map. As some of the sharp eyed amongst you will notice the top 16 teams are playing their quarter-final during the football Saturday afternoon, and that there are 3 spare pitches in the previous time slot. These can be allocated on a biggest bribe gets pitch basis on the day, but it does mean playing back to back games, its up to you! My organisers chair and table will be near the television in the pavilion. The schedule below is hopefully correct. I have attempted to avoid teams having to play back to back games on Saturday. Where they do their opposition will have also had to do this. On Sunday I have attempted to fit all the games in before the final so that everyone can watch without making the finalists wait forever to start and have long trips home in the dark. If you see problems in the schedule please let me know (although I'm sure you would anyway!). The 17 to 26 games from round 2 onwards may look odd but its deliberate. Teams starting 1-6 and those finishing 21st and 22 will only get 4 games, everybody else gets 5. |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |Time |Pitch 1|Pitch 2|Pitch 3|Pitch 4|Pitch 5|Pitch 6|Pitch 7|Pitch 8| |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |Round 1| | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |9:30 AM| 11 vs | 12 vs | 13 vs | 14 vs | 15 vs | 16 vs | | | | | 22 | 21 | 20 | 19 | 18 | 17 | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| | 11:00|7 vs 26| 10 vs | | | | |9 vs 24|8 vs 25| | AM| | 23 | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |Round 2| | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| | 12:30|1 vs 16|2 vs 15|3 vs 14|4 vs 13|5 vs 12|6 vs 11|7 vs 10|8 vs 9 | | PM| | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |2:00 PM| 17 vs | 19 vs | 20 vs | 21 vs | 22 vs | | | | | | 18 | 26 | 25 | 24 | 23 | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |Round 3| | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |3:30 PM|1 vs 8 |2 vs 7 |3 vs 6 |4 vs 5 |9 vs 16| 10 vs | 11 vs | 12 vs | | | | | | | | 15 | 14 | 13 | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |5:00 PM| 17 vs | 18 vs | | | 19 vs | 20 vs | 25 vs | | | | 24 | 23 | | | 22 | 21 | 26 | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| | | | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |Sunday | | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |Round 4| | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |9:30 AM|9 vs 12| 10 vs | 13 vs | 14 vs | 17 vs | 18 vs | 23 vs | 24 vs | | | | 11 | 16 | 15 | 20 | 19 | 26 | 25 | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| | 11:30|1 vs 4 |2 vs 3 |5 vs 8 |6 vs 7 | 17 vs | 19 vs | 23 vs | 25 vs | | AM| | | | | 18 | 20 | 24 | 26 | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |Round 5| | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |1:30 PM| 21 vs |3 vs 4 |5 vs 6 |7 vs 8 |9 vs 10| 11 vs | 13 vs | 15 vs | | | 22 | | | | | 12 | 14 | 16 | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| |3:30 PM|1 vs 2 | | | | | | | | |-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------+-------| Captains Meeting 9.00am A team must have 7 players to play.
