Speaking for myself and not for my team It's a fair point about geo teams and in an ideal world everyone would play with the team they are nearest to geographically.
But I play ultimate for enjoyment. Now that doesn't mean that I don't want to improve my play or play for a good team, but it does meant that i want to play for a team with my mates. The arguement about never improving unless you live together isn't strictly true. It just depends how commited you are to playing. Poco Loco have had quite a number of practices this winter and have definatly improved as a result. We have players based in London, Cardiff, Bristol, Sheffield, Leeds and Liverpool. Because a lot of the ultimate community are " young professionals " the chances are we are going to move around the country a lot and we'd be switching teams constantly. It WOULD be easier to play with our local teams but out of choice we choose to play with people we get along with ( Apart from Coy of course, he's just there for historical reasons :-). It's a pain in the arse but at the end of the day surely it should be up to the individual. How many Clapham players would play for Red if they happened to move to Leicester ? Not a criticism of Ben but just being realistic.
