Driving ~ from the M5 (Gloucester) via the A417/A419 ~ from the M40 (Oxford) via the A420 ~ from the south (Southampton) via the A34 and M4 British Rail ~ mainline station on the London Paddington - Reading - Bristol line, amongst others KING EDWARDS PLACE is about 6 miles from Swindon: ~ at M4 J15 head NORTH towards Swindon on the A419 ~ at FIRST junction (Roundabout) turn right onto the B4192 (heading SE towards Aldbourne, via Liddington) ~ through Liddington village ~ across the motorway ~ turn LEFT (there's a big Bus Stop area come filter lane here) ~ across the motorway (again!), and SLOW DOWN ~ between the 2 White Lodges on the LEFT is the driveway to King Edwards Place ~ follow the signs to the car park and sports pitches ~ Beware of oncoming traffic (the driveway is a single lane with passing places) and speed bumps ~ On arrival, you just need to orientate yourself to the relative positions of the Car Park, Pitches, Pavillion and CampSite CAMPSITE How to get there: On Friday night, follow the directions (above) for getting to King Edward's Place, but do not "turn left into the driveway between the two white lodges". Rather, keep going, not far, along the road to a crossroads, with a pub (The Shepherd's Rest) on the far left corner. Turn left at this crossroads and follow the road along. About 300yds along, on the left will be a wooden five-bar gate. On the other side of the road, i.e the right are two fields, one of which will be home for the weekend. Note these fields are fenced and have locked gates.
