This weekend saw the end of the Bristol Winter League and what looks like the end of the usual terrible BWL weather as games were played under blue sky and blazing sunshine with the slightest of winds.
In the top four, first game of the day saw Hopwood Park struggling against SkuMy to finally take the game by two points. The next game against Furious Georgians which has always been close (HP winning by one every time) was the usual fast paced game with layout D's flying everywhere as Hopwood Park managing to take a comfortable 6 point lead late in the game which Furious could never pull back. Bristol Old Gits having already destroyed SkuMy in their previous game went on to destroy a demoralised Furious Georgians team 17-2. And so the final game would again decide the winner, the old gits stuck to their known method of play were able to break down HP's zone defence but due to them being old only having 10 players all weekend (as did HP) were tiring against man on man but still managed to string enough passes together to win 17-9. In the bottom pool Martie McFly's south west squad beat the two BLT teams easily and had a close game against Mythago finally winning by two points to finish top of the bottom 4.
