Sunday saw the Finals competition of the Midland Winter League. 6 teams took part in the event, hosted by Bears at Warwick Uni. Great weather, good pitches and some excellent pre-tour Ultimate played at all levels. Congratulations to Purple Haze, who beat BAF in the final, to add to their League win. Slipdisc and Purple Haze shared the spirit prize.
The final standings from the Midland Winter League 'League' competition were as follows: 1. Purple Haze (MWL Champions 02/03) 2. Flyght Club (MWL Runners-Up 02/03) 3. Warwick Bears (MWL Spirit Winners 02/03) 4. Red 5. BAF 6. Slipdisc (MWL Coed winners 02/03) 7. Mental Knights 8. Mootones Purple Haze will be competing as Midland Champs at the Winter League Finals. Best of luck. Thanks to all the players and teams who took part. Thanks to the hosts of the events (Slipdisc. Flyght Club, Mootones, Bears) for providing decent venues through the winter, and making the whole competition the success that it was. The Midland Winter League has provided a platform for some competitive outdoor Ultimate through the Winter months. Next year, we hope to expand the league and attract a larger number of teams following this winter's successful competition, and establish the MWL as an annual competition for the Ultimate teams of the Midlands. Thanks again. Mal and Stuart (MWL Committee). __________________________________________________ BritDisc mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pootle.near.me.uk/mailman/listinfo/britdisc Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/informed.asp
