Bristol Winter League is having the same problem for the December league day. BWL dates for the whole season were put out on Britdisc on 16th September and yet tournaments (in particluar the forthcoming Picnic Indoor Anniversary) were announced much later and clash with Chris Hughes' ultimate calender. Admitadly this isn't a UKU sactioned event but it makes organising events a lot harder if your effectively cutting the possible number of teams that can enter your tournament in two. Look at the uku calender before you put out a date for any tournament (although who updates this thing)!!! As regards to having the UKU National Indoor qualifiers on the first weekend in January, WHY?? The UKU decided in early September that the first Sunday of every month would be winter league, the second weekend would be GB training. How many of the GB players play schmindoors, I'm sure they wouldn't mind clashing and I can't see the coaches being too bothered that theyr're players aren't able to play indoors. Stu Austin BPF #3

Sorry, but I feel that strongly let down by the organizing body of our sport in this country. Betrayed is probably a more accurate description. I would encourage all other WL managers to consider taking the same action - please contact me directly so we can take co-ordinated action if we agree we feel strongly enough.
