Seeding of Teams

Team seeding has been devised by the Ultimate Committee and takes into
consideration the following factors (in order of priority):
1. Past performance of national teams in World Championship tournaments.
Results for club team competition and from WUCC 2002 are not taken into
consideration.
2. Past performance of national teams in Regional and Continental
Championship tournaments. For European teams, the results from the 2003
European Championships override the results from WUGC 2000.
3. The desire to spread countries equitably throughout pool play ensuring a
geographic spread and allowing teams an opportunity to play against teams
not normally encountered. This principle will only apply if a team has to
move one seeded place from the agreed list based on past performance.
4. International and Tyro teams, regardless of their composition, are ranked
behind national teams.
It is quite a challenge to seed national teams as WUGC happens every four
years and only the European teams compete as national teams in other
competition. We have devised a schedule that we hope will compensate for
any incorrect seedings.
