Hi all,

There have a been a couple of distressing incidents of things going
'missing' at tournaments this year.

Two of the most significant where:

1. At the BritOpen in Eastbourne a couple of advertising banners belonging
to "Jump+Reach / GAIA Europe" went missing (two large banners advertising
Gaia equipment). The fact that Jump+Reach travelled from Germany for the
event demonstrates both the success of the BritOpen and the growth of
Ultimate in the UK in general. I know Nolan and several of the team captains
have been trying to track these banners, but I'd like to add my voice asking
that anyone who has any information please contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
direct. They just want their banners back.

2. At Tour 4 in Edinburgh an expensive, personalised splint belonging to
Paul 'Timmy' Lawrence went missing. Again if you know anything please
contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] direct.

These sorts of occurrences are becoming depressingly common at Ultimate
tournaments. It is only a matter of time before an incident of this nature
comes to involve outside authorities with nasty consequences to those
involved and unpleasant knock on effect for everyone else. It will be a
real shame when this happens, as it will signal a significant change to the
way people approach tournaments and Ultimate in general.

The UKUA advises all Ultimate players, teams, companies and TD's to take
great care with your belongings at tournaments and for TD's and captains
especially to do everything possible to ensure that incidents like these are
keep to a minimum.

It saddens me that this advice is necessary,
Barry
