Thing i see with mixed moving to a different slot to open is about how
teams can practice and play together.

Here, almost every team in mixed is made up of either players who play open
for various teams, or teams that basically have the same or at least
similar line ups in both. There are obviously exceptions to this with
players who will only play in mixed, but i am taking this as a whole.
There are not really specific mixed tour teams only, in this sense. So in
that case, with the overlapping structure as it is, why would teams play
and practice just as a mixed team when many of their players play on open
teams elsewhere. This is particularly apparent at the top of the mixed
tour, where many of the players who played in the top 4 teams at mixed
would not play at EUCC in the mixed division, rather playing open or
womens.

If the mixed tour was moved away from open dates, there would be more of an
incentive for teams that want to concentrate on playing mixed and getting
teams to qualify for EUCC to train together away from the open tour,
developing their games at mixed and maybe even persuading people to take
mixed ahead of open.

Given that thought, i don't think it really matters if mixed was before or
after open, but i do agree that separation of the dates of each would
benefit the game.
