Hi all, It is very encouraging to see so many people providing positive feedback and constructive suggestions as well as negative. Thank you for that.
All of the Board (and especially Chris as DoC) do read the BD comments and suggestions; and there is time before Open/Womens Tour 3 to make changes to the schedule. It is interesting however that a very similar debate took place after Tour 2 last year - and the schedule we have now is a direct result. Therefore what we, the UKUA, need from you, the teams/players attending these events is: 1. A consensus on what you want from the Tours and (importantly) what else you are willing to sacrifice to get it. It is good to see JP attempting to get an idea of what teams want and Wigsy attempting to get representatives from teams to be proactive in suggesting solutions. If you care about the events you play in then get involved. If the UKUA gets a good schedule suggestion backed by the majority of teams we will, of course, listen. 2. Consideration and a willingness to compromise (don't just think of what is best for you or your team). So, for example, the reason a Tour A straight 16 knockout has been rejected in the past is because it is very harsh on newly promoted teams. Unfortunately Chris and the other UKUA volunteers will not have the time to find this solution for 2005 - it needs to come from UKUA members - and the majority of teams and players - that's you! Thanks, Barry UKUA Chair PS We will be asking for feedback and volunteers to help with the 2006 season soon. So if you have a potential venue check it out or if you want to help with anything at all keep an eye on BD, the website and the Member Updates. __________________________________________________ BritDisc mailing list [email protected] http://zion.ranulf.net/mailman/listinfo/britdisc Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/informed.asp
