Some tournaments? By popular vote, those tournaments now number at least 12:
all Indoor & Outdoor Regionals in the University Division. I hope you took the
opportunity to discuss your concerns with your club and ensure they were raised
in advance of the vote. If you still feel this way in a years time, feel free
to propose a motion to overrule this vote and the same old ground can be
covered by a new group of Uni clubs.

Correct. This has been laboriously discussed on UU. Take a quick look at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/uniultimate/message/3119
And more generally the thread around March of this year [and November of 2003
if you want to go way back...] The full document endorsed by the recent UU
vote can be found at http://www.ukultimate.com/uniultimate/qualifierformats.pdf

Can you quantify your experience more thoroughly? I've heard only one team
vehemently deny that the best three were qualified from their region, and it
just so happens their region were pretty strong this year. Most people I've
talked to agree that TE got it right. Jon has been good enough to take a
further look at the formats, and the Championship game can now be scheduled
more flexibly given some other changes. Oh, and it was never possibly for a
team to be in the final and then end up 5th & 6th. If you're presenting an
argument, please make it more thoroughly researched.

Well, I've always been careful to refer to the Championship game with its
rightful title, and not the misleading 'final' when it isn't necessarily
scheduled as the last game of the weekend. I also believe the Game To Go has
every chance of being a tight, well fought encounter with a greater degree of
tension. And, as Stuart said, with enough pitches, the Championship game can
still be scheduled such that everyone else can watch.

With some of your concerns addressed in the new qualifiers document [have you
read it?], I hope the season ahead includes two well-run and enlightening
instances of TE tournaments. [Hint to all Uni clubs: please start bidding for
events as soon as possible!]

Regards,
