This is probably a great big over-reaction, but in case it isn't:
With so many UK and in particular London players overseas at the moment and who
may be having trouble getting through to teammates and friends due to the
London phone network being somewhat stretched, there is now a yahoogroup that
you can post to and leave a message saying if you and people you know are OK.
Particularly if you live/work in Central London.
It is http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/londonplayers/
You don't need to subscribe to post or read messages but I think you need a
yahoo ID to access the page. Hopefully all this confusion will have passed in a
day or so and then the list will be closed.
This might not work, hopefully not even necessary, but worth a shot. Pass on
the word to any other lists you think appropriate or people at Europeans. Lets
keep people informed and keep the worry to a minimum. Do not abuse the list.
London Rocks.
