Dear Brit Disc First of if you don't live in London then this won't apply to you and I apologise for filling up your inbox...
As the bleak English winter begins to settle upon us, I think there's a lot of people/teams will be struggling to get the numbers to make weekend practices worthwhile. And I know from our experience that playing in the wind and rain with only 3 a-side can be a very demotivating experience. That said I know that there are still plenty of players who want to keep training over the winter months and as such the Herd have decided to hold open practices in Clapham on Saturdays. These sessions will be open to everyone regardless of whether you currently have a team or not. The sessions will consist of about an hour of simple skill focused drills (i.e. throwing, cutting, marking and breaking drills as opposed to tactical discussions and set plays etc) followed by the standard pick up game. The exact times may vary week to week so for those of you who aren't already aware of it we have set up a 'herd_pickup' mailing list which we use to post the details of each weeks session. This mailing list will not be used for general chat and therefore if you think it's unlikely that you'll make it out to a session it doesn't hurt to be signed up just in case your at a loose end. To be signed up to this mailing list either log onto yahoogroups and search for herd_pickup or e-mail me at this address. Many thanks for your time and attention Kenee Thundering Herd P.S. If you are currently looking for a fun but hard working mixed team then the Herd are always recruiting and either find me at one of the sessions or mail me so we can talk about getting you on board. ---------- Disclaimer ---------- This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
