Hi there everyone,

It looks like I'm going to have a problem renewing the registration on
the domain currently used by BritDisc.

I'm trying to work out a sensible option for migrating BritDisc to a new
domain name, but for now can you all use the following address for
posting to the list:

        [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I've changed the outgoing e-mail address to match this, so this also
means that anyone who does filtering based on the e-mail address will
find their rules aren't matching messages anymore. Sorry about that.

On a vaguely related note, at some point I'd like to delegate BritDisc
to someone else as I'm not particularly keeping up with it recently to
the extent that I haven't even read it for a couple of months.

It's probably quite a hassle trying to migrate to a Windows server, as
that would almost certainly loose everyone's preferences, so it's be
good to move it to a UNIX box so it can continue to be run with mailman.
If you maintain a reliable UNIX server and can cope with the load,
please let me know. For reference, there are currently just over 1000
subscribers and the list handles about 1500 messages a year, so you'd
be looking at a bandwidth of about 9GB per year.

Obviously, I'd want to involve the UKUA in any transfer of ownership,
as it's probably something they should be involved with. I'm also
relatively happy leaving it running on my server, although obviously if
I'm not reading it, I don't notice when problems occur unless people
tell me!

Ralf.
