European Ultimate Players! The 2006 European Ultimate Championship Series is advancing as planned. I hope most of you have had the time to go to the EUCS board ( http://www.efdf.org/forums/) and read the EUCS series proposal (under the cover letter heading). Although the CSC is still working on the eligibility question, we are going ahead with planning for the regional committees and the EUCRs. The EUCF has been awarded to Florence, and will most likely take place from Oct. 20 21.
The EUCS Central Region is forming the Regional Series Committee (RSC) and is calling for volunteers to serve on the committee. Those who wish to help out should play on a club team (open or women) in one of the following countries or section: Denmark, Germany, CEL, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia. The CE RSC will coordinate with the CSC and be a liaison between national federations and country representatives for the EUCS. The CE RSC will set accept bids for the CE EUCR tournament to be played some time between the middle of August and middle of September. It will also award the tournament to the most qualified bid. Further the RSC will decide how many spots to the EUCR will be assigned to each participating country or section in the CE region. The work load will not be too much, but if you want to be on the RSC you should care about what is happening to Ultimate Frisbee in the CE region and you should want to participate in making the EUCS a success in 2006. An equal number of women and men serving on the committee would be excellent. At present we have three dedicated volunteers on the committee, one from the CEL and two from Germany, all men.
