I seem to recall that the 75 mile radius was supposed to be a generous initial distance whilst the idea bedded in and was supposed to be reduced later.

But then at my age maybe my memory is going...

Certainly I don't see why the reasons for the geo rules no longer apply. Maybe when every major city in the UK has a winter league the size of the London one, but not until then.

Personally I don't see to much point in penalising non-geo teams within the tour or nationals but I agree that geo teams should gain some benefits when selecting teams to represent us in international competition if only to stop the player movement that seems to occur for the season or two before such competitions.
