"Scheduling will include an attempt to avoid the England v Paraguay game at 2pm
on Saturday."

Appreciating this effort by the schedulers.

Is this likely to happen? And if so what provision do we have for a load of
people wanting to watch it. Just thinking a clubhouse with one small tv might
get swamped by baying, marauding, lagered-up, frisbee hooligans.

I know that a fair few people probably don't care but it is the World Cup and
if you are going to go to the effort of scheduling around this game then we may
as well have the chance to watch it. A pub nearby with a screen would do. I'll
send one of our rubbish players (me) to sit at a table all day to reserve it.

I personally think the organisers should get a massive cinema sized screen so
we can all sit around in the baking sun and watch Rooney spank goals in whilst
poking the Paraguayans with his crutches. Or something. Put a vat of cider at
the side and it's some sort of frisbee/football/apple utopia. I think this is
doable. Think BIG people.

Anyway, my team (me) are anxious to know how this will be handled in case they
(I) need to slip away quietly during the day. All information gratefully
received.

I assume we will all be singing God Save the Queen before each game as well.

Many Thanks,

Berry7.

Subject: [BD] Mixed Tour 3 - Deadline and Update

Please respond to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  Dear Britdisc

I'm writing with more information about Mixed Tour 3 and a timely reminder
that the deadline for cheques is coming up. Entries are flooding in, so please
get your payment in before 22 May.

  Food - PLEASE READ:

Breakfast: Bacon and egg sandwiches will be available at the pitches in the
mornings

Lunch: We are borrowing an idea from Australia and offering Lunch Boxes
...for £50 per team - that's £1.67 per person per day based on a team of 15
people - we will provide a boxed lunch for both days. It will be a
roll/bagel-based lunch with humus and plenty of fresh stuff - alternative
options will be included for special diets if you let us know in advance. If
your team is bigger than 15, let us know.

This idea works really well in Australia and is a nice way to share lunch
with your team, but we'll only be able to do it if there's enough interest.
Please let me know in advance if you want a Lunch Box and include payment with
your team fee. In order to make this work, we need a minimum of 15 teams to
take it up.

  * There will not be any other lunch food available at the pitches, although
refreshments will be available.

Dinner: A BBQ will be available at the picturesque campsite along with a
cheap bar

  * Food will be brought to you by Vanessa White who has all relevant food and
hygiene qualifications

  Accommodation:
The campsite is a 15 minute (timed it on Sunday) drive from the pitches and it
really is worth the drive. It's in the middle of a country park on the banks of
a lake with thick, soft, lush grass, bunny rabbits and birds. We have sole use
of the site which has basic facilities - water and toilet block - and there
will be a marquee in case of rain.

If you're wavering about camping, give it a go. The campsite charges £3.40
per adult per night and £2.20 per child.

  The closest budget hotels are:
Premier Travel Inn - Peterborough (Ferry Meadows) - within walking distance
of the camp site...just

There are also a couple of Travelodge's and Holiday Inn's, or check out the
following links:

  Party:
There is a party and it's going to have a summer festival feel, down by the
lake. If you or your team would like to contribute to the entertainment, please
let me know...

We'll have taxi numbers available for those of you not camping.

  Payment:
There are several ways to pay the £150 team fee (or £200 if you want to
include the lunch box):

We met the groundsman on Sunday; the pitches are in great condition and he's
guaranteed straight lines and right angles. The school next door has ultimate
on the curriculum and we're going to see if we can get them along for a
coaching session.

Scheduling will include an attempt to avoid the England v Paraguay game at
2pm on Saturday.

Please call or email ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) if you have any questions and look
forward to seeing you in Peterborough!
