Looks like Clapham had Chilly (Top Aussie team) as the quarters and
lost, however seemed to take our their frustrations on America's
Doublewide (who's they'd narrowly lost to previously) 17-13 to put
them what looks to be in the 5-6 match.

Looks like the Aussies and Japanese (no surprise given the event is in
Australia) are the teams to beat.

Leeds beat Blokes and Sheilas in what looks like sudden death and
subsequently lost to Slow White and the Seven Dwarfs (good name). Not
sure where that puts them.

A lot of this is on www.scoreomatic.com if you can figure out that
system. It's great for scores but pretty poor for determining how
scores actually affect pools, knockout scheduling or placings.

Now the real news...EMO have won a couple of games!

I recall during the mixed tour a conversation with an unnamed player
on Discuits who said to me in confidence..." I just don't want to be
battling it out for last place with Steal ". Well crisis averted,
Steal earned themselves a place in a higher pool but seem to be
getting a bit thumped up there. Discuits are now battling it out for
last with London luvables Thundering Herd. The reality seems to be
that local Melbourne squad Honey Badgers are positioned for last place
having been beaten by both lower bracket UK teams. Yay!

Masters...no teams present...shame.

Not sure if Britidisc is working properly as my mail from yesterady has not

Anyway, it appears things continue to go badly for GB teams.

Bliss have been knocked out of the top 12 as the organisers chose to use
different tiebreaker rules than in the past and they finished bottom of a
three way tie to drop out.

Iceni have yet to start their second round campaign.

Fire have been knocked out, having lost all 4 matches in the 2nd round, so
miss out on quarters.

Clapham are still in, having narrowly lost to Doublewide (Texas) but have
qualified for quarters despite a game with Sub Zero coming up to decide 3/4
in the pool.

Leeds are in real danger of falling out the competition as they have a crunch
game against Blokes and Sheilas for the last qualifying spot for the top
16.

On a plus note - Bristol seem to be be winning a lot in the bottom half of
the Mixed division.

Still time for a turnaround but things are looking very tough. Come on folks...

Dave.
