Still having problems getting the Member Update to everyone (see point 7 below). Meanwhile - apologies if you receive it more than once...
These updates are always available from the website as well. Thanks Si ********************************************** Dear UKUA Member, You are receiving this mail because you have registered on the UK Ultimate Association web site (www.ukultimate.com) In this update 1. WUCC RESULTS 2. UKUA CONFERENCE 3. COACHING 4. ELECTIONS 5. 2007 CALENDAR 6. MEMBERSHIP 7. COMMUNICATION ISSUES 8. CONTACT DETAILS ******************************************* 1. WUCC RESULTS Apparently Australia is a long way away - looking at the entry list for WUCC2006 - too far for many of the European and North American teams to go. Not so the plucky Brits though who, as usual, turned out in force to show their stuff on the pitch and at the parties excelling on both fronts. With strong opposition from the locals, Japanese and the Yanks who made the trip it was a tough hard fought battle all the way through for every team. Congratulations to Clapham and Fire who both bettered Clapham's 11th placed finished in 2002, LeedsLeedsLeeds who matched CAF's 15th place in Hawaii and Iceni who bettered Bliss's 12th place from 4 years ago. British Ultimate is still on the up - bring on Europeans next year, at home! Mixed: 15 - LeedsLeedsLeeds 21 - Bristol Plastic Factory 27 - Ltd Release 33 - Discuits 36 - Sheffield Steal 38 - Thundering Herd Open: 5 - Clapham Ultimate 9 - Fire of London 17 - EMO Womens: 8 - Iceni 13 - Bliss ******************************************* 2. UKUA CONFERENCE The 2006/7 UKUA conference is due to take place on Sat 27th Jan at the CCPR rooms in Victoria, London. Places are free but limited to 50 so please apply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to reserve your sport. The conference is a vital part of the process which governs the direction of UK Ultimate for the coming year and beyond. If you want to make a difference and get your point across then please come along - if you just want to rant on Britdisc all year then come along too. Please look out for more information over the coming weeks. ******************************************* 3. COACHING The next Level 1 Coaching course is to be held in London, at Crystal Palace on Sun 28th Jan. More info on the course along with training dates can be found on the UKUA website at: http://www.ukultimate.com/coaching/TrainingCourseDates.aspx ******************************************* 4. ELECTIONS Ever felt like stepping into the corridors of power and getting on the all expenses paid gravy-train of serving the masses? If so you might have to join a political party and run for election. However, if you want more influence over more people than your average back bench Green Party MP then you might consider running for election to the UKUA board. For your chance to be involved in the decision making process at the top of UK Ultimate and to help push the sport forwards then think about which post you would like to run for (Chair, Treasurer, DoC, Non-portfolio), write a short manifesto and post it to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Applications close on WED 10 JAN 2007 and manifestos will be posted on the UKUA website ready for voting which will start on MON 15 JAN 2007 and end on FRI 2 FEB 2007. Results will be announced shortly after that. ******************************************* 5. 2007 CALENDAR After frequent requests on Britdisc about the whereabouts of The Official 2007 Tournament Calendar here's a reminder.
