My interpretation is that its another way of saying "no plays on the disk
from out of bounds".

This is marked as new in the rules:
"17. Possession and Positioning
17.1. A receiver gains possession of the disc and becomes the thrower by
demonstrating sustained contact and control of a non-spinning disc while
they are in-bounds, AND WHEN THEIR FIRST POINT OF CONTACT WHILE STILL IN
POSSESSION OF THE DISC IS NOT OUT-OF-BOUNDS."
I may be being thick here, but do I interpret this to mean two points of
contact in bounds, or is the second part about catching in the air and
landing with a point of contact in bounds?

I missed out...
- We now have Callahan goals (14.1): If you intercept and catch a disc
in the endzone you're attacking it's an immediate goal.
- Spirit of the game is no longer rule # 1
- Wrapping your arms around the thrower while having one disc distance
between your arms and the upper body of the thrower seems ok according
to the new rules. In my opinion this is a change to rules: The old rule
404.11.3 was "When guarding the thrower, the marker cannot position his
or her arms in such a manner as to restrict the thrower from pivoting".
