Firstly - apologies for interrupting the crossfire with this.  Although one
of the minor volleys this week was about checking rosters so I guess it's a
sort of relevant.  

As per previous events - the trial of the rosters feature continues... (more
details below).
We will switch it on for real one day so help in ironing out the issues is
much appreciated.


Checking membership status:
If you are team captain and want to know about the membership status of your
team you can now look at this in the "Member list" page associated with your
team - its in the grey box on the right hand side of your team page.  You
can only access this information if you are a member of a team.  This page
has been improved to provide REAL NAMES and MEMBERSHIP STATUS.


Roster information:
As per previous tour events I have just enabled the roster/invitation
feature for Mixed Tour 2.

This feature is aimed at helping us track members and rosters; and hopefully
help team captains track the membership status of their team members that
are playing at UKUA events.
 
THIS IS A TRIAL.  It is NOT a requirement to use this feature for MIXED TOUR
2.

There will be NO penalty for not using this feature.  There will be no
penalty for making a mistake in using this feature.  I am only sending this
to Britdisc and not attempting to make sure we get blanket coverage to every
team captain at Mixed Tour 2.
 
If you have time/energy to try this out it will help us work out how to
implement it in a way that is effective and helpful for future tournaments.
 
To try it out:
 
TEAM CAPTAINS/ADMINS:
Go to the event page on the website:

(I know its Tour 2 now...)
 
Right at the bottom of the page TEAM CAPTAINS will see a link to "Send
invites: 
to members of <<TEAM>> or to a site member"
(Only team admins/captains can see this link.)
 
Your team members will then receive an email inviting them to go to the
event.  They can click on a link to say "yes".  If they do - the website
will build a list of your team mates that are going to the tournament.  In
particular - and a few people have asked for more info about this - this
list tells the team captain what the membership status is for all their
players that are intending to play.
 
PLEASE DO NOT SAY YES IF YOU ARE NOT GOING.
 
TEAM MEMBERS WILL NOW HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT WHICH TEAM IS INVITING THEM TO
THE TOURNAMENT (which is useful for people on more than one team).
 
I then get a report that provides me with information about who is playing
for which team at MT2.  This is not yet available for team captains - sorry.
It will be... 
 
Thanks in advance if you get the chance to try this out.  If you run into

Our intention is that in the future this will become a standard way of
handling rosters and checking membership at UKUA events - but its going to
take a few events to get all the issues out.  Feedback on the process and
any bugs is very welcome.  Politeness appreciated ;-)
