Results from Open division Tour 2: http://www.ukultimate.com/previous_open_division_results/2007_tour/open_tour _2_2007_0
And update to current ranking table: http://www.ukultimate.com/previous_open_division_results/2007_tour Tour 2 this year certainly threw up a few interesting results... 1. Leeds went on a roller coaster ride - beating Fusion in the first game, only to tumble down to 4th in the pool after losing to Fire and Paddy. They got a sort-of revenge on Paddy on Sunday - but are no doubt gutted to have missed such a golden opportunity to put themselves back in the top 4! 2. Paddy and Discuits consolidated their Top 8 positions whilst Brighton slipped up and dropped out (replaced by Fire 2). 3. Bristol were relegated to the B Tour! Is this for the first time? Even the big clubs. There are no easy games, ... Etc etc 4. Two of the three teams that came up from the B Tour have yo-yo'd straight back down again. But Ltd Release hung on and stayed up. 5. Unlike at Tour 1, none of the lower teams came through the "back door, double elimination round" to playoff for the 3rd promotion spot, and the three teams that went down from Tour 1 are coming straight back up! Something to do with lucrative TV deals for the A Tour? Are Push Pass Productions making and investing more money than anyone realised? 6. And watch out for London Revolution who went from B Tour 18th at T1 to 6th at T2. And so who is going to win the Tour in 2007? It looks like a two horse race. If Chevron and/or Clapham are in the top 3 at Tour 3 then whichever of them is higher will win the Tour. Fusion and Fire have to hope that Paddy and/or Fire 2 can knock one or both of Clapham 1 and Chevron out of the semis during pool play. If that happens, then Fusion/Fire could still win the Tour if 1. They win Tour 3, and 2. Both Clapham and Chevron finish outside the top 3 Technically, Leeds could win if events conspire to get 3 of the top 4 teams out of the semis. Then they need: 1. To win Tour 3 2. Chevron and Clapham 1 to both finish 7th or worse 3. Fusion and Fire to both finish 4th or worse Actually Paddy can also still win. but it would require a string of, lets say "unlikely", results. :-) I think they might prefer their chances of upsetting GB Open on the first day of EUC 2007 - that game starts at 1pm, Sun 29th. See you there?
