The voice's report Wednesday.

Open.
The open machine rolls on. First off was Finland. The finns made a
good fist of the game and scored plenty, but they never took the lead
and never looked like threatening to either. Huge plays from Sam Lord
and hot handling from Dan Furnell capped a great team performance. The
Finns are not a light weight team by any stretch of the imagination,
but they were made to look quite ordinary by GB's squad. They could
win the game with sideline energy alone such is the enthusiasm and
support that exists in the team.
The second match of the day saw the hard running Swiss side give GB a
good game in the first half, but once the GB D machine got up to speed
there was very little our muesli munching friends could do. They only
scored twice in the second half as GB eventually won 17-8.

Women.
The women kicked off this morning with a strong performance against
Sweden. And won their second game of the day to 5. I can't see many
teams really challenging them

Mixed
Started the day with a slip up. Losing 14-16 to the Czech Republic
wasn't in the game plan but the team seemed positive about it and
comfortably won their other game of the day.

Masters
Started the day with a stunning game against Finland. Both teams
brought out some fantastic ultimate and traded point for point all the
way to 15-15. With a last ditch effort they managed to secure a block
or too in the final minutes of the game and took the game 17-15. A joy
to watch.

Juniors
Easy wins over both the Swiss and the ?. Mean that the Juniors will
probably finish top of the round robin stage, and may well face
Austria in the semis, having played so awfully against them in the
opening game I'm sure that every member of the squad will be eager to
settle the matter. On Tuesday afternoon the juniors had one of their
greatest games, coming from 10-14 behind to defeat Germany in a time
capped game to 16. Their coach, Nick "Statto" Sampson, said they
wanted the result badly and ground out the win, despite it not being
too pretty at times. "It was a mental battle and we wanted it more."

Junior Women
I was lucky enough to see the Junior women kick the Swedish team, in a
well spirited game. Both teams lacked the solid and consistent passing
and catching of the senior women's squad who were all present on the
sideline along with their Swedish counterparts, but they did at times
show some really great flow and skills. Every point involved a number
of turn overs but that added to the excitement. GB's strength in depth
has improved a great deal as they now have a number of players who can
handle well and put up a big disc when it's required. 17-8

Under 17s
Bageled Sweden in a none game. Coach Andy Vaughan said that the Sweds
didn't bother to show up, the game was meaningless and they treated it
as such, however the history books won't show that they'll just show
the score 17-0. The under 17s beat Finland today and look like being
favourites to win the division.

Ireland
Both the Irish open and women's teams are playing very well, the women
are in the bottom six, but a 9th place finish would still be a
brilliant result. Ireland open have already beaten the Danes, which is
a hefty scalp to take at this level, today they added the French to
the list of wins and also pushed Sweden to 16-13, in an angry game
where the Swedes repeatedly spiked the disc and were very aggressive
in their celebrations. Well done Ireland.

Weather has been hot and sunny and the ultimate is looking good.

Cheers
