first two steps - i.e. you can't be slowing down, release a pass, and then
start speeding up again.
Hmmm. I disagree. The rules state:
17.2.1. A Travel violation occurs if:
....
17.2.1.3. a receiver does not come to a stop as quickly as
possible or changes direction after catching the disc;
I think it could (and should) be argued that once you have thrown the disc
you are no longer a receiver, and so you do not therefore have to stop.
Picking up on one of wee wee Dave's points: spirit is about playing to the
spirit of the rules, not the minutiae of interpretation. I don't think
anyone thinks the rules should say "If you make a pass within 3 ground
contacts you still have to stop dead afterwards", and therefore you should
interpret the rules as they are intended, i.e. if you are doing a homeboy
you don't have to stop dead even after releasing the disc.
