Hi

Firstly, before the main part of this email, thanks to all those who let me
know that midlands student regionals (in nottingham) is on the same date as
our second skills day date (3rd November, luffbra) by email. Much
appreciated!

We're gonna stick with that date anyway now, I figure given the growth of
the number of uni teams in our region and hence generally only 1st and 2nd
teams getting in (c.f. 5 bears teams in 2001!) there will still be plenty of
beginners/intermediate players around who wanna come along have some fun and
improve their game...
http://www.emo-ultimate.org.uk/clinics.html for details

uni exec people might wanna start thinking about transport for this?
(e.g. drop-off: luffbra to nottingham site=20mins ish, or 2 cars/minibuses)

Anyway ...down to business:

The
"quick-I'm-angry-having-wasted-several-hours-I-should-have-been-writing-my-thesis-knee-jerk"

version:

PUT YOUR F*CKING EVENTS ON THE UKUA CALENDAR YOU M*RONS!

The "actually-I-won't-hit-send-but-I'll-leave-it-a-day-....aaaaand-relax"
version:

Some brilliant person, doubtless after changing the arrangements for an
event they were running several times because information about other events
was not available to them, came up with a genius idea.....

"Let's have a place where everyone running an ultimate event in the UK can
quickly and virtually effortlessly put up details of their event, not only
publicising (sp?) their event for FREE to eveyone who needs to know about
it, but making eveyone else running an event lives easier as they can see
when the free weekends are so everyone in the country can play more of that
sport they love (ultimate of course :P)"

....they though to themselves.

Was the idea laughed out of town? Did people say to them "No, no-one will
ever bother with that BWHAHAHA!"?

No. actually some other* brilliant person spent a lot of time sorting it out
so you could.
(*possibly the same person in fact)

simply go to http://www.ukultimate.com/event

then hit "create event" on the right hand side in a little grey box
(assuming you're already logged in)

Seriously, It only takes 5 minutes of your time and may save hours of other
peoples time. It'll also give you your own pretty little coloured box for
your event on the list :-)

I'm sure this moan has been up here before but i think its worth reiterating
until people actually start doing it for *every single event* (i realise the
situation has improved regarding this recently but it still can get better)

N.B. It is the TDs of each seperate event and NOT the appropriate
coordinator's (e.g. Felix/Ed Blockley's etc) job to put up each event rather
than every single (e.g uni) tournament on here, they already do enough
bl00dy work for the ultimate community as it is!

Also, if you know of an upcoming event and spot its not on the calendar then
maybe consider emailing the TD or just putting it up yourself

cheers

A now calmer Thrash

P.s. sorry to those people who have recieved 20+ (spam) emails from me over
the last few days...
