Hi everyone,

This email only really concerns students, apologies to all the non students
who get this email. You dont have to read it.

We had a few issues with eligibility last year, so I thought I would
point out a few things before even more questions start rolling in.
Uni open indoors (and outdoors) is now BUSA affiliated.
The following eligibility rules do not apply to womens and mixed.

Every player must be over 18 years of age.

Every player must be studying a 60+ credit course of the institution
they will be playing for.
No satellite players, no pickups, no non-students. I'm sorry if your
uni doesn't have a team, but those are the rules, and nothing is
stopping you from starting a team of your own.
A team fielding an ineligible player will be disqualified.
In the case of a disqualification the TD or regional
coordinator can either:
a)- make the ineligible team forfeit every game no matter what the score.
b)- allow the team to play as normal, but should they reach a
qualifying spot they will be moved down the rankings so that they do
not qualify.

Whilst a) might seem a bit harsh, an ineligible team could stop a
legal team from playing an important pool/crossover game which may
cost them a shot at a qualifying spot.

Everyone who plays at indoor and outdoor nationals must be a paid up
member of the UKUA.
No excuses, if you don't pay you are not insured and therefore can not
and will not play.
You do not need to pay in order to play at regionals.
Furthermore, I would ask that every player at nationals be rostered
with their team on www.ukultimate.com (just like tour) which makes the
process of checking each players membership status a lot easier.

There is no maximum player limit per team, nor should there ever be.
You can have as many players in your squad as you like as long as they
are all eligible.

We will be playing to the current UKUA indoor rules.
Please note that these are not available on the UKUA website yet, so I
have put them up on the uniultimate yahoo group for everyone to
download and read. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/uniultimate/files/
Yes, there is such a thing as an indoor brick and just because you
argue against that point does not make it so!
No, you do not have to brick the pull if it would be more to your
advantage to middle the disc where it went out!

TD's must complete the marking lines of the endzone (preferably with
low tac tape available from B&Q as it does not remove the varnish from
sports hall floors) and mark out a 2m high line on the back wall
(preferably in the middle) for purposes of defining a valid pull. They
must also tape out the brick mark. Can every TD also please make sure
they have a hard copy of the rules at the tournament should they be
needed.

Furthermore in line with the UKUA tour rules no player may play whilst
bleeding . If you notice that someone is bleeding please bring this to
everyones attention so that they can come off the pitch until they
have dressed the wound. Do not use this to your advantage as to do so
is unspirited. Shouting out that a player is bleeding whilst they go
to catch a disc in the end-zone will not invalidate the point they
just scored, but it does mean the must come off for the next point whilst
they dress the wound before they can come on again.

Just to point out, Women's and mixed are non-BUSA, so pickup players are
allowed as long as they are students.

The UKUA eligibility rules can be found here:

The university region details can be found on www.busa.org (click on your
university and it will tell you which region you are in).
Felix drew up a rough map which is online here:

Full BUSA eligibility rules can be found in the BUSA handbook (page 40), the
chairman of your club should have been given one by your athletic union.
