"2 - I as a TD then went out and bought 40 4or 6 litre bottles on Saturday to
suppliment the shortfall. I also bought 56 2 litre bottles for the tent area
for people to be able to fill up from."
"5 - UKUA players nicked most of the big water bottles that i bought so i have
to go and get a further 20 bottles on the Sunday morning."
not having a go particularly, but does this not strike anyone as inefficient?
instead of focusing on what was bad, how about focusing on how it could be
improved? in my opinion, those little crappy plastic water bottles have always
been a waste of time (and money it would seem, judging by the amount of new
bottles needed per tournament). why not follow the example of some of the
European tournaments and hire a few 1000+ litre water trailers and just have
them dotted around the venue?*
* not done any research into costs but surely it can't be that cost inefficient
or nobody would use them

Subject: [BD] WATER AT MANSFIELD - AND APPOLOGIES

Water was a problem this is my summary of what happened... would have helped if
people had filled up there own water bottle at least for first game... but alas
no... (this is not a dig and please don't retaliate)

I was not going to post this to brit disc to try to prevent the debate ;) no
such luck.... please be assured that the Board are looking into this and the
other problems that have occured in the TOUR  as a whole... i

just thought i would summarise the problems at tour 3 re water...

1 - We the UKUA din't have enough water bottles. This was not discovered until
i collected the equipment from Jack at tour 2 (ONLY 9 WATER BOTTLES LEFT from
20 that went out for Tour 1), I did try to order more bottles after tour 2 but
could not get any in time as they were out of stock. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT THE
UKUA ARE LOOKING AT....

2 - I as a TD then went out and bought 40 4or 6 litre bottles on Saturday to
suppliment the shortfall. I also bought 56 2 litre bottles for the tent area
for people to be able to fill up from.

3 - I walked around the pitches at the hot points on Sunday with Ice packs for
all the teams on the far pitches and free ice lollies to try to keep people
cool.

4 -  The ground staff were not as proactive as previous years. NO MATTER HOW
MANY TIMES ASKED!!!

5 - UKUA players nicked most of the big water bottles that i bought so i have
to go and get a further 20 bottles on the Sunday morning.

6 - the cub scout group that i had tried to employ pulled out on thursday
morning due to lack of numbers (there was to be 2 scouts per pitch) that teams
could ask for more water etc...

POINT 6 WOULD I THINK HAVE SOLVED THE ISSUES THAT OCCURED, but these things
happen....

YOU ALL HAVE MY APPOLOGIES!

SORRY

Hannah

PS who could have figured that the weather would be THAT good in Mansfield
(JOKE.... PLEASE DONT SHOUT AT ME)

PPS the rubbish was aweful, but i did pay people to clear it up
