Welcome;
The Bristol Ultimate Draft League aim is to introduce new people to the game
of ultimate and raise the profile of ultimate in bristol by creating a social
and competitive ultimate league. The teams will be formed on a draft basis to
create as evenly matched as possible and to allow new people to learn quickly
in a team environment. It will also hopefully provide good level competitive
ultimate for experienced players.
How it works;
You register on the website with your details and your history/skill level of
ultimate Frisbee. teams will then be drafted from this information into squads
of around 20 players. We will ask two people from each squad to be
administrators for their team. Duties will be making sure you have enough
players for next weeks game and welcoming new players to the team and making
sure you have their contact details and they have paid and registered. Also 1
captain/coach will be needed for each team to help new players learn the rules,
new skills and feel involved quickly in your team.
Where and When;
Netham Park, St.Anne's, Bristol.
Please aim to arrive at 6.30 to warm up, get changed as games will start at
7pm sharp.
The league will start in full on Tuesday the 1st of July.
On Tuesday the 17th and 24th of June newcomers are welcome to come down from
6.30pm 8pm to receive free coaching sessions on all the basics. After this
everyone is welcome to join in Tuesday night pickup as usual.
The league will have 4 teams 6 weeks of round robin games then a final for
the top 2 teams on the 12th of August. Followed by an end of season BBQ and
prize giving!
Games;
Games will be to 15. A daylight cap of 2 will be added at 8.30pm or by
captains discretion, if score less than 13 points to the leading team.
Games will be 7v7 with at least a 5 men, 2 women gender split.
Cost;
Finances to be finalized as waiting to hear back from netham park on cost of
marking pitches and the possible cost of using the pavilion.
