Hey all

Next summer 2009 I am looking into holding a indoor beach tournament in
Northampton at Moulton college( A Equestrian College). I am currently in
discussion with the college trying to get them to commit to letting me use
their venue.....

Ok so you have seen equestrian college and wondered why I am telling you that,
you may have realised that it is to do with horses.

Well the idea is to hold the tournament on the sandpit where the horse shows
are done and they are ran around on the rope (unsure what its called lol)

Yes the sand is pooed on

Yes the sand is peed on

Yes it does smell of horses.

Now the sand is cleaned everyday by a large machine that rakes and collects the
poo, the sand is heavily sprayed with water. (might I point out that you dont
do this to a field that is used which dogs will have peed and pooed on) when I
visited the venue I had no problem walking on the sand and if Im honest I have
no problem with diving on it.

There are articles stating that horse manure has no risk of infecting humans
with anything....remember that it is used as fertilizer for your gardens.

Now there is a smell which you would obviously associate with a equestrian
college, the venue has a constant breeze passing thruough and there are large
double doors at each end that can be left open. so there will be a constant
stream of fresh air and as you can imagine the smell will fade.

Once again I spent 20 mins there and wasn't put off by the smell at all, infact
after a few mins I didn't notice it.

All in all we have every intention of making the venue as nice as possible,
opening the double doors to allow fresh air to flow through early, checking the
pitches to make sure that there is nothing around. How often do you check the
pitch your playing on outside for dog poo and other things.....not very often
lol.

So the worse part of the idea out the way.

The venue is able to hold approx 4 pitches with enough space from the walls to
allow worlds greatests and any other showboating skills you want to attempt.

Across the main edge of the pitch is seating for 300 people which allows you to
view the games with no obstructions. Outside there is a large football field
allowing other activities etc etc.

The venue also offers 200 or so rooms for accomodation and there will possibly
be the option of camping (yet to be confirmed) so all needs are able to be
catered for.

So I have given you the problem that comes with playing at a equestrian college
and told you the plus points of this venue.

Now to the one question that I have come across...why hold a indoor beach
tournament inside.

Answer is that I can hold this tournament come rain or shine, it is in a
central location meaning that people from all corners of the uk can get to.

Easily accessed from London, Birmingham by train and M1 by car....

So boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen next year will hopefully be the first
ever indoor beach tournament in the UK......ill write it in capitals to give it
more enthusiasm

THE FIRST EVER UK BEACH TOURNAMENT could be held next year, do you want to be
part of it, do you want to be able to say that you played in the first ever
indoor beach tournament.

Well let me know your ideas, give me any advice that you might think will help
me get the college to 100% commit to this event, join my facebook group and
show me support.
